UV5 – b), b1), b2) & b3) On the floor and defending against a standing opponent: 1) First position: Back on the ground, both feet towards opponent, arms in guard. 2) Attacker starts to move to the side: Raise up so that one foot is flat on the floor and the hand on the opposite side of the body is flat on the floor. The other foot is ready to kick out and the other hand is ready to defend. Practise rotating to the left and right. 3) Getting up : Balance the body on the foot and hand that are flat on the floor, lean forward and pull the other leg underneath until it can be placed flat on the floor and then stand up into guard position.
